EuroSun 2003 Gothenburg with track on CSHP

October 31, 2006

At the EuroSun Conference 2003 in Gothenburg, Sweden, there was a track on District Heating and Renewables. The proceeding is online. I did not find the fulltext-proceeding though.

You can find the Dr.-thesis of Michael Krause, from the University of Kassel in Germany (in German). more later…

SunStore2 a EU-project enlarging the Marstal Plant

October 31, 2006

Sunstore 2 was the follow up end extention of the Marstal CSHP Plant. EU supported the project economically. You find the project survej on CORDIS.

Planenergi, a Danish Consultant Company was in charge for the project. You find a report on their website.

The University of Stuttgart took over our work with Marstal. Especially Thomas Schmidt was aktiv. One can find some of the work in the proceedings of the Futurestock konference.

Ph.D.-thesis about CSHP

October 31, 2006

I did in 2000 finish my Ph.D. on Central Solar Heating, Modelling, Simulation and Evaluation, which resulted in a thesis. The publication can be downloadet from the research database, ORBIT, at the Technical University of Denmark. You can find most of my work there, and also work by others belonging to the university.

Ærø the World Champion Island of Central Solar Heating

October 9, 2006

At the island of Ærø (Aeroe), Denmark, you can find three of the largest solar heating plants, connected to district heating in Europa. Hereby the island is certainly world champion in this disciplin.

You find the first plant in Ærøskøbing ( Aeroeskoebing) that combines a biomass plant with a solar heating field, using a water tank storage for buffering.

The second and largest plant is placed in Marstal and was the plant that was applied as a case study for my Ph.D. work. The plant is very larg, consisting of a number of different collector fields and three long-term heat storage. The plant is found at www.solarmarstal.dk .

A third and newest plan, not as large as the others is placed in Store Rise, combining a biomass plant with solar heating.

Welcome to a blog on Central Solar Heating

October 9, 2006

I finished my Ph.D. in engineering in 2000, within the topic of Central Solar Heating and Seasonal Heat Storage. After finishing the study, I was researching 2 years in the field. Since then I am involved in IT and knowledge technologies.

Now I feel, that it is time to do something about it, collecting facts in my spare time. In the same time I get the chance to play with a blog, collecting experiences with this tech trend. So here we go.

The aim for this blog is to collect information on Central Solar Heating and Seasonal Heat Storage in a single space, giving anybody a fast insight into the field and pointing to relevant resources.

As you will see, my English is not the best, but I believe that I do better doing something, than nothing at all. Please feel free to send me an e-mail or place a comment within the blog, if you would like to improve the text, give some hints, tips, links or comments.
